Charlie McCabe has specialized in Northern California investment sales for over 30 years. During this time, he managed the acquisition or disposition of more than 7.6 million square feet of commercial properties, in addition to over 20,000 acres of vacant land.
Mr. McCabe was previously with Cushman & Wakefield, at which he worked a total of six years. He also spent thirteen years at CBRE, where he had been its top San Francisco agent, and the firm's number one investment-property specialist for the entire Bay Area.
Multiple pricing records for Northern California real estate have been set by Mr. McCabe, when exclusively representing sellers. These include the highest recorded prices per square foot (PSF) for office, retail, hotel, and parking garage properties. He was the first (and also the second and fourth) person to sell commercial buildings for over $1,000 PSF, and recently facilitated the highest ever sale amount ($6,129 PSF above grade).
In addition to selling properties to high net-worth investors (including individuals on the Forbes 400 list), Mr. McCabe was among the earliest to complete transactions locally with investors based in the Middle East, Asia, and Europe. His familiarity with international capital is supported by travel to more than 45 countries across five continents.
Closely connected to the community, Charlie volunteers his time with philanthropic organizations such as The Guardsmen, which raises funds to send disadvantaged children to summer camp and provide educational opportunities.
A seventh-generation San Francisco Bay Area resident and an Oakland public schools (start to finish) alumnus, he brings a long-standing and well-rounded civic engagement and regional understanding. Working continuously since age 12, he is known for delivering exceptional effort, expertise, and dedication to every client.
The University of California at Berkeley awarded Mr. McCabe a degree in Economics. While at Cal, he was a member of AIESEC—a non-profit Dutch organization in consultative status with the United Nations Economic and Social Council. He has two adult children.
